Age 46, of Oswego, Illinois, passed away Sunday, July 28, 1991 in Oswego. He was born August 20, 1944, in Valparaiso, Indiana, the son of Leland and Doris (Anderson) Gaines; Mr. Gaines was a Valparaiso resident until 1971 when he moved to Illinois. He was married to Susan Peters on November 26, 1970 in Merrillville, Indiana. Surviving are his wife, Susan; 3 sons, Richard Jr., Peter and Steven and 2 daughters, Kathryn and Deborah all at home; His parents, Leland and Doris Gaines of Mesa, Arizona; 3 sisters, Barbara (Ed) Graham of Hebron, Indiana, Deloris (Charles) Martin of Christopher, Ill, Joyce (Stan) Dugas of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 1 brother, John (Linda) Gaines of Tempe, Arizona; Mr. Gaines was a chemist at AMOCO and served as a Boy Scout Leader; and was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Oswego; Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday July 31, 1991 at St. Anne's Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Coleman officiating. Visitation will be at McKeown-Dunn Funeral Home in Oswego, Tuesday from 3-9 p.m. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday August 1, 1991 at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe, Valparaiso with services at 12 noon. Dr. M. W. Craig officiating. Burial will be in Kimball Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Fox Valley Hospice, 113 E.
